Ahh I too used to wear my tie the thin way. Plus we used to unpick some of the tread to make it look, well, pretty crap.

Yes - so did we! I'd forgotten that. Looking back, it was a sort of proto-chav thing, really. Your cartoons are great, by the way.

I grew up in Kent, which was the birthplace of the chav. In fact, chav meant boy in my town "allright chav!" would be a friendly greeting. I think it was gypsy slang. There were a lot of gypsy families in kent, there probably still are.

I'm not sure what I was trying to do with it but it ended up more like a George Michael Uber-bouffant. I had a bad hair decade.
