Tozo at the Holy Bank. Coincidentally, this week was the anniversary of the death in 1982 of Roberto Calvi in circumstances that partly inspired this very storyline.

Tozo and Klikker have caught the waterbus, a standard form of Nova Venezian transport.
Recommended reading: I recently picked up a printed preview of Necessary Monsters, a new webcomic from Sean Azzopardi and Daniel Merlin Goodbrey. If Grant Morrison’s Doom Patrol had been drawn by Eddie Campbell it might have looked something like this. Can’t wait to see how it develops.

This time last year Tozo had a two week summer break - and this year he’s doing the same. The next update will be Sunday 15th June when we start the wind down to the end of Chapter 2.
If you’re missing Tozo in the meantime, why not buy a poster to display on your wall and you’ll be able to see him every day…?

Tozo posters (and badges) are available for sale from the Mutantman Press shop:

Click here for a bigger view. It’s a scene of Tozo wandering down one of the major thoroughfares of Nova Venezia, though at the slightly scruffier end, I’d say. Klikker’s there too, dodging the good citizens of the city.
It’s also available as a desktop wallpaper from the Extras page. If you buy a poster you get a set of badges free, or you can order badges separately too.

Recommended reading: Gipi’s Garage Band from First Second Books. Beautifully energetic and expressive watercolours illustrate the gritty tale of a group of lads and their attempt to set up a band.

- I bought Tozo his own domain: http://tozocomic.com. Do take a look.
- I 've booked a table at the Birmingham Comics Show in October. Whilst I'm happy with a table by myself, I'm also happy to share in order to reduce costs. Let me know if you're interested. I am house-trained and know how to use a deodorant.
- The London Zine Symposium is today: "Bringing together zine, small press, comic and radical writers to celebrate DIY and zine culture". I'll probably pop down there, with a copy of the Daily Mail to use as a cattle prod to keep the bolshie riff-raff at arm's length.
- Beaver and Steve's James Turner is looking for a guest artist.

Recommended read: I just finished reading David Yoder (aka
awesomeyoder)'s collected journal comics: 260 pages of gentle self-deprecating humour based on his everyday life. You can buy a copy of this excellent book here.

I've a whole bunch of posters left over from the Thing and will put them in the shop when I've sourced some card tubes for shipping. Also, Tozo chapter 1 is now available from Indyplanet

10:14 am - Thing Anthology
It was the London Thing yesterday. I'm planning a full convention report later but the headlines are: I met a lot of nice people, sold/traded a load of comics and managed to cover my costs on a slowish trading day.
Instead of the regular TOZO strip here's my contribution to the Thing Anthology (explanatory note: the theme was 'giraffes'). The regular strip returns next week.

Next Saturday is the London Web and Minicomix Thing! I'll be there with my first ever table at a comicon - do come and say hello if you can, and perhaps purchase some fine goods to keep me in the champagne lifestyle to which I have become accustomed (see below). There will be loads of great small-pressers there: young and trendy types such as Liz Greenfield, Will Kirkby and that Beaver and Steve guy, as well as old fogeys like Sean Azzopardi and myself who should know better.

The correct age was 31 years 197 days. I'm pleased to announce that Tom Aldrich of Ohio, USA was the winner, providing the closest guess at 32 years 47 days. Congratulations to Tom!

If you're in the London (UK) area there is a show featuring the work of a number of small-press comic creators at the Riverside Gallery, Richmond-upon-Thames running from 1st March to the 12th April. There'll be a couple of prints from Tozo as well as work by Sean Azzopardi, Victoria Latham and Stuart Kolakovic amongst many others (if the email-list is anything to go by).
